Buenas noticias para los amantes del cine en pleno confinamiento. A finales de mayo dará comienzo WE ARE ONE: A Global Film Festival, un festival online de cine, organizado por YouTube y Tribeca, que presentará contenido seleccionado por algunos de los festivales más importantes del mundo: Annecy, Berlín, Cannes, Guadalajara, Jerusalén, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Londres, Macao, Marrakech, Mumbai, Nueva York, San Sebastián, Sarajevo, Sundance, Sydney, Tokio, Toronto, Tribeca y Venecia.
La cita se podrá ver en YouTube y servirá para hacer frente a las cancelaciones ocasionadas durante las últimas semanas, que por ejemplo afectó a los estrenos previstos de Disney para este año. Todos los fondos recaudados por el festival irán a parar a la OMS en la lucha contra el coronavirus.

Por el momento no se ha desvelado el calendario ni la programación del festival, pero en este artículo y en nuestro Instagram compartiremos la lista de películas seleccionadas cuando sea anunciada.
Jane Rosenthal, cofundadora y directora ejecutiva de Tribeca Enterprises, presentaba así el festival hace unas horas: “We Are One: A Global Film Festival une a programadores, artistas y contadores de historias para entretener y reconfortar a las audiencias de todo el mundo. Al trabajar con nuestros extraordinarios socios y YouTube, esperamos que todos experimenten un poco de lo que hace que cada festival sea tan único y aprecien el arte y el poder del cine”.
